Tracy Albers, PhDPresident & CTORapid Prototype and Manufacturing LLC., (rp+m)

Dr. Tracy Albers is the President and CTO of Rapid Prototype and Manufacturing (rp+m). In this role she is responsible for developing and executing rp+m's business strategy, which focuses on new and unique innovations in the additive manufacturing (AM) of metals, semi-metals, ceramics and polymers. Since taking the helm at the Avon Lake-based company in January 2015, Dr. Albers has increased the company's profitability by 150%. Under her leadership, rp+m is pioneering AM use in qualified production applications for the aerospace, defense and automotive industries. Prior to joining rp+m, Dr. Albers worked for GrafTech International, a $1.5B global materials company. During her 10 years there, Tracy directed R+D and commercialization efforts for two business units: the first one focused on new materials for the carbon fiber composites industry, and the second one on advanced materials for energy storage applications. Dr. Albers also led multiple initiatives that strategically partnered with multiple national laboratories, including Oak Ridge National Labs. The Strongsville, Ohio native currently serves on the Steering Committee for Team NEO's Additive Manufacturing Cluster. She speaks regularly at advocacy events—locally and nationally—and has led large collaborative partnerships with America Makes, the National AM Innovation Institute, which is based in Youngstown, Ohio. Dr. Albers was recognized as a leader for women in manufacturing with a 2013 STEP Award from the Manufacturing Institute. In 2015, she was profiled by Crain's Cleveland Business in its series, "Who to Watch: Manufacturing." In 2017, Dr. Albers was recognized for her business leadership by Crain's Cleveland Business as a distinguished "Top 40 Under 40." Also that year, she was recognized for her leadership in technology by the women's advocacy group, "Women in 3D-Printing." Dr. Albers received her Ph.D. degree in Physical Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh and two BS degrees in Chemistry and Exercise Physiology from Baldwin-Wallace College. She lives with her family in Westlake, Ohio.
