There are a variety of technologies that engineers and product developers can use to manufacture metal parts, and with so many different processes, it may be difficult to select the best option. This presentation will explore your manufacturing options for metal parts and how to design for those options. Four commonly used processes are sheet metal fabrication (laser cutting, bending, and fastening); CNC machining; direct metal laser sintering (DMLS); and die casting. Each process has advantages, disadvantages, and a unique set of design guidelines. This technical training will explain how to leverage each process in order produce well-designed and efficient parts in a shortened period of time.
